Workshop

Workshop Pathways to Funding in the US and Germany

10. January 2022 | on one's own account

Roundtable Workshop: Pathways to Funding in the US and Germany

The Ruhr University Alliance, the DWIH New York (German House of Science and Innovation New York) and the Worldfactory International of the Ruhr University Bochum invite on 26.01.2022 to a virtual roundtable workshop to compare the German and U.S. funding landscapes and cultures, look at similarities and differences, and the overarching themes across the Atlantic.

.

The workshop will analyze the relationship between a startup and its funding channels from the perspective of both the startup and the investor: What are the expectations/fears/goals of a startup? On the other hand, what are funders looking for when they decide to invest in a startup?

The goal of the roundtable workshop is to jointly develop a roadmap. The focus will be on university-affiliated startups with a tech/digital business model and their unique position in 2021/2022 in terms of funding and funding opportunities.

The event is limited to 40 participants* and is aimed at (future) startup founders specifically with university affiliation, industry experts and VCs.

Career Preparation: New event format for doctoral candidates in IT security launched

They are highly educated and the forthcoming doctorate opens up numerous perspectives for them. Especially then, it is often not easy to decide which path is the right one for you personally. The new event format on career paths provides impulses for doctoral candidates in IT security.

Which career paths are there, which suits me and what do I really want? The Cube 5 incubator, together with CASA, SecHuman and NERD.NRW graduate schools, invited experts and guests from the various career areas to pursue these and other questions.

In addition to careers in science (Prof. Dr. Tim Güneysu, RUB) and economy (Stefan Hölzner, KPMG), the participants were given the opportunity to examine self-employment and entrepreneurship as professional perspectives in the panel discussions in the afternoon.
