March 22 – March 24,
Creative.Minds-Workshop 2024
From March 22 to 24, 2024, the second Creative.Minds workshop will take place in Bochum, which is aimed specifically at women who are interested in hacking and CTF games.
What can participants expect?
Creative.Minds is a three-day workshop for women who want to learn more about hacking and CTFs. CTF stands for “Capture The Flag” and refers to competitions in which puzzles are solved in the context of cyber security. The workshop on the Ruhr University Bochum campus offers participants a comprehensive introduction to the topic of web security and CTFs by experienced trainers Johanna and Gina. It also provides plenty of opportunity to get to know the other participants and make valuable contacts.
In addition, experts from science and industry will report on their careers and current professional experiences.
How can you take part?
These are the participation requirements at a glance:
– Age between 16 and 25 years
– Resident in Germany
– Good knowledge of German
– Interest in computer science, web technology and cyber security
– The participants have not yet taken part in a Creative.minds workshop.
– Participation in the qualifier: Details can be found at https://creativeminds.ruhr/
The 25 participants with the most points will be invited (travel and accommodation costs will be covered).
The application deadline is January 31, 2024.
Who is behind Creative.Minds 2024?
The event is organized by the members of the CTF teams FluxFingers and RedRocket, the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy and the Ruhr University Bochum. It is supported by the Cluster of Excellence CASA, CUBE 5 and G Data. Coaches Johanna and Gina come from the CTF teams and are already looking forward to meeting the participants.
Why is Creative.Minds so important to us?
Women are severely underrepresented in IT security and the CTF community. This workshop was created to break down barriers to entry, give women the opportunity to network and show that CTFs are a game for everyone. By sharing ideas and building a strong network, we want to give women a successful start in the world of cyber security.
