Half a year has already passed since the official opening of our Cube 5 incubator. In the meantime, the first event formats in the field of IT-Security have been developed and founders have been accompanied on their way to a successful startup. A review of the first project year of Cube 5.
On May 9, 2018 the official opening of Cube 5 took place. The Cube 5 team with Dr. Thomas Wollinger (CEO, ESCRYPT), Martina Rinkens, Fabian Hoff (both Cube 5) and Prof. Dr. Christof Paar (head of the project and RUB professor at Chair for Embedded Security) have started their work as a startup incubator. Since then, the project of the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (HGI) has been expanding the existing IT-Security landscape for students and entrepreneurs.

Furthermore, there is a regular exchange with successful founders. The event will be complemented by a two-day workshop in Berlin which will provide practical insights into the capital’s startup scene – a hotspot of the German startup scene.
Cybersecurity Founder Meetup #2
In the end of November 2018, the second Cybersecurity Founder Meetup took place in our new coworking-space. The Cologne startup SoSafe – Cyber Security Awareness was a guest. Dr. Niklas Hellemann, co-founder of SoSafe, gave exclusive insights into the successful startup and informed about founding a company. The startups emproof and securious from Bochum as well as code intelligence from Bonn provided further input.
