For the second time the Cybersecurity Founder Meetup took place. In our new coworking-space in Bochum more than 20 founders and those looking to set up a business in the field of IT-security exchanged about their startups, founding ideas and issues related to these.
Dr. Niklas Hellemann, co-founder of the startup SoSafe – Cyber Security Awareness from Cologne, opened the evening with a keynote. The company is specialized in the simulation of phishing and social engineering attacks for a wide variety of industries. Using realistic phishing simulations and email templates, it helps employees to recognize phishing mails at an early stage. A current and important topic, emphasized co-founder Niklas Hellemann, “because about 92% of all cyber-attacks begin with phishing-mails”. Moreover, various e-learning modules offer employees the opportunity to expand their knowledge in a practical and interactive way.
Since its founding in early 2018, the startup has developed numerous industry-specific simulations for phishing and social engineering attacks. According to Niklas Hellemann, a special feature of the startup is the completely anonymous survey of click rates in addition to the industry approach.
“This enables us to ensure the necessary acceptance among our employees from the outset”.
Further input resulted from three short lectures by the startups emproof (Marc Fyrbiak, Philipp Koppe, Benjamin Kollenda) and securious (Dennis Tatang, Alex Zinelis, Benjamin Schleier) from Bochum as well as code intelligence (Philipp Langnickel and Sergej Dechand) from Bonn. The founders gave practical insights into their startups. The Cyber Security Founder MeetUps #2 was completed by a panel where e.g. startup strategies and experiences were exchanged. An innovative platform for networking in the field of CyberSecurity.
The following Cybersecurity Founder Meetup is going to take place in spring 2019. More information will be available on our homepage in the near future. Registration will be processed via the Meetup-platform.
